The Dubois County Substance Abuse Council was first created in 1990, since then it has had a few name changes but the purpose has remained focused – to reduce the effects of substance abuse within our county in order to enhance family and community life.

The Council has made progress into challenging the problem of substance abuse in this community.  We believe that due to our persistent efforts, there are some signs of change in attitude and of actions in the people of Dubois County.  Examples of progress include less publicity for the annual tapping of the keg for Strassenfest and sterner sentences for offenders.
